(Apologies: don’t read; for passersby only) God is a mistaken creation of the human imagination – not wholly unwarranted but once established only offering further imaginings, ie Islamic State or Trump. So the idea that God is subject to wilful construction by ‘stupid wretched little me’ closes objectivity off once and for all and makes the whole God project a dreadful nightmare of human selfishness & idiocy. Adding a dash of oh but ‘God is nicer than me’ realism doesn’t really convince.
