Impossible? Nope; yet everyone misses this all the time
An elemental and very real observable ‘fact’ which makes a monkey out of God, the universe & anything else you might care to name.
How is this fact arrived at? Simple observation & rational analysis.
And so what is this very real fact ?
As follows: when we arrive at a perceptual (mental or physical) phenomenon — whatever it might be — God, soul, consciousness, immortality, whatever — we first have to grasp (that whatever it is we are perceiving) ‘is what it is, or what it appears to be’ (more or less), and in making use of this grasping capacity (however you might want to define, describe or label it) it stands to reason that this ‘grasping/apprehending capacity’ (what else could it be?) precedes (again by deductive analysis & logical reasoning) any grasping of anything at all; meaning that the ‘apprehending capacity of any & all & every phenomenon’ (or whatever you want to call it) is of much greater elementary & ontological importance than that which it then goes on to present to the observing subject.
