It doesn’t matter whether or not Krishnamurti was a ‘liar’ – for that we would need to know the facts behind his words – who cares ? But that he was a deluded egomaniac is certain – telling people he had nothing to teach, yet spending his whole life lecturing to audiences around the world. And he wasn’t capable of discussing anything with anyone – he simply delivered his authoritarian pronouncements as final judgements which, if you give them a second thought, are complete nonsense.

“Can self deception be understood?”

Why not? So your self is deliberately, or inadvertently (?), deceiving you, leaving you unsure as to the truth of your true self ? Or as to the truth of your interactions with other people?

Or is it presenting you with a picture of yourself of which you are not sure is ‘real’ ? So there is – somewhere – a more real self of yourself which is being – for one reason or another – hidden from you. Or is it that there is no real self anywhere, and that your thinking that there might be one is the cause of your delusion?
